It has been found that higher the investment in UX, greater the increase in sales with better customer retention and engagement, and a faster movement through a product or service cycle. Approximately 70% of projects fail due to the inability of a company to either attract or retain users. UX designers improve navigation, ease of use, and ‘delightful’ interactions, resulting in lower bounce rates.
As part of a large turnkey implementation for a global Hedge Fund client, we were aware that the UX/UI transformation was significant, as that was the face of the change. It would impact both users and businesses. We had to bring existing applications to a modern system without affecting existing workflow while reducing redundancy.
The challenge was to not tinker with what works, but redo or improve what was not working without impacting the business negatively. We had to keep in mind the diverse technology stack and deliver a seamless experience across all platforms for the user.
Armed with user research, user analysis, business goals, and applications simplification objectives, we set out to achieve gains in productivity, user-engagement, user-satisfaction, and TCO.
As part of the Digital-DAIS™ suite, we introduced ‘Facelift’, a collection of ready-to-use building blocks (pre-built frameworks and UI components library). Our ready-to-use UI building blocks (Pre-built Infrastructure with UI components) reduced UI development time by 50%, while also making maintenance an easier task. The UI framework is cross-platform and supports Apple, Microsoft, Linux and Android platforms. The framework is multi-device compatible, which allowed for consistent user experience and gains across our client’s diverse tech-stack.
Collaboratively working with distributed App dev teams delivered through bi-weekly release sprints, we reduced the number of screens from 500 to150 through user task-flow analysis and optimization of user flows. Elimination of multi-screen dependency resulted in productivity increases. Unified and standardized user experience along with configurable UI made ease of use possible and upped satisfaction scores.
